Most thanks is polite and forgettable. A few small changes make it something your team and customers remember.
You are probably grateful for your team and your customers. The harder part is saying it in a way that people actually feel.

Compare two sentences. "Thanks for your help this week." And: "Because you stayed back on Wednesday to repack the order, it reached the customer on time."
The second one shows that you noticed. It names the action and the result. The person knows exactly what you valued, and they are likely to do it again.
A simple pattern is: what you did, what it made possible, and thank you. It takes fifteen seconds.
"Thanks for your help" is polite. "Because you stayed back, the order left on time" is felt.
If you cannot think of anything specific, that is useful information. It may mean you are not paying enough attention to the work. Look more closely, and the specifics will appear.
Thanks has a short shelf life. A message sent the next morning lands warmly. The same words at the next quarterly review feel like a form.
Build a small habit. At the end of each day, ask yourself, "Did anyone make my day easier today?" If yes, tell them before you switch off your phone. A quick WhatsApp message is fine, as long as it is not a copy-paste.
Do not save all your thanks for big moments. The steady, quiet people who prevent problems often never get noticed, because nothing visibly went wrong. Those are the people most worth thanking.
Some people love being praised in front of the team. Others find it embarrassing. Know your people. If you are not sure, ask, or thank them privately first and mention it more widely only if they are comfortable.
Public thanks has one great benefit: it shows the rest of the team what good work looks like. Just be fair. If the same person gets thanked every time, others feel unseen. Look around for the people whose work is less visible, like the person who keeps the accounts tidy or the one who answers the phone gracefully.
And avoid thanking in a way that quietly adds pressure, such as "I know I can always count on you to stay late." That is not thanks. That is a request wearing a smile.
Customers, suppliers, your accountant and the person who delivers your parcels all keep your business running. A short note to a customer after a long relationship, saying what you have valued working with them, is rarely forgotten.
When a supplier goes out of their way for you, tell them, and if it is true, say that you will keep using them. A sincere thank you is easy to remember because it is uncommon.
The best thanks costs you something small: your time, your attention or your effort. A handwritten line on a card. A phone call instead of a message. An hour of your own to cover for someone who needs to leave early.
You do not need gifts. A gift without a clear reason often feels like a substitute for noticing. Notice first. The gift, if any, is secondary.
